First Edition, in the publisher's original binding.Illustrations include a frontispiece and illustrated plates depicting a range of women, including Madame de St. Huberti, Madame Walewska, Grace Dalrymple Elliot, and the Empress Josephine.This work focuses on the love affairs of Napoleon Bonaparte, giving the reader an overview on the life of Napoleon and the many women he became romantically involved with.Contents include headings such as 'The Women of the Palais Royal', 'Victorine de Chastenay, A Poetical Young Lady', 'Bonaparte Goes Gathering Cornflowers with Her', and 'An Adventure with a Young German Woman'.Written in French by Joseph Turquan (1854-1928).Translated by J.
