Minimal fingelfleckig. Verso leichte Montagereste. Insgesamt guter Erhaltungszustand.Antonio Tempesta (1555 Florenz - 1630 Rom). Italienischer Maler und Radierer. Namhafter Vertreter des Römischen Frühbarock. Schüler von Jan van der Straet (Stradanus), dem wichtigsten Mitarbeiter von Giorgio Vasari. Vermutlich Mitarbeit an der Dekoration des Palazzo Vecchio und der Uffizien in Florenz. Um 1580 Übersiedlung nach Rom, wo er unter anderem die Figuren in den Romveduten des Mathijs Bril in der Loggia Gregoriana des Vatikan malte. Zeichnete Vorlagen für Kupferstecher und Radierer wie Francesco Villamena, Matthaeus Greuter oder Paul Maupin. Ab 1589 entstanden etwa 1700 eigene Radierungen biblischer und mythologischer Thematik, die selbst Künstler wie Rembrandt, Rubens, Velázquez oder auch Poussin beeinflussten. Besondere Bekanntheit erlangte sein Stadtplan von Rom 1593. In der Platte rechts unten signiert: A. TE. Links daneben nummeriert: 4. Unterhalb mittig Titel sowie seitlich die Verse: Isacidum dux ille, Dco propiore beatus / AEthiopum crebro milite uastat agros. // . Numbered on the bottom right '24'; four Latin lines on the bottom:'Instaurare nouo pars diruta moenia Saxo / Apparat, et trepida pars tenet arma manu // Finitimo uerrit hoste metus, sic tempore eodem / Alter ab alterius munere sumit opem'. Pages 15 to 30 heavily sunned, with sporadic holes (thus partly affecting text and some illustrations). Minor to moderate age-toning along paper margin for the remaining pages. Text in Latin. Binding in overall poor, pages 15-30 in poor to fair, the remaining pages in good to very good condition.
