John Snow & Co., London 1871. Frontespiece portrait + VIII+153+(17) pages. Original brown embossed cloth binding. A bit shaky in the binding. Name to title leaf. Some foxing. Overall: Very good. * Moffat [1795-1877] was an English missionary in Africa for many years, and translated the Bible to the Setswana language. He had returned to England in 1870 due to bad health, but still continued to work for the mission in Africa: This book was made, so 'The profits of this work will be devoted to the French Mission in South Africa'. Fun fact: His daughter was married to David Livingstone.** With a photograph portrait to the frontespiece, signed 'Yours very truly/ Robert Moffat'.
