Réédition d'articles de Raymonde Linossier suivis de contributions originales de R. Grousset, J. Bacot, P. Pelliot, M. Lalou, S. Elisseev, O. Lacombe, S. Levi, H. Maspero, etc. L'auteur de Bibi-la-Bibiste était rentrée au service photographique du Musée Guimet en 1926. Sous la direction de Paul-Louis Couchoud, elle contribua ainsi à la "Bibliographie de l'archéologie bouddhique ou Mythologie asiatique", jusqu'à sa disparition prématurée en 1930. Tampons d'ex-libris de sa consoeur et amie orientaliste Marcelle Lalou. Bon exemplaire.

En frontispice une tête sculptée de Bouddha puis un avant-propos de Paul-Louis COUCHOUD (X), philosophe, médecin, érudit et poète français, grand spécialiste du Haiku. L'ouvrage proprement dit compte 431 pages et envisage la quasi totalité des mythologies d'Extrême-orient. L'abondante table des matières détaille chacun des chapitres et en précise l'auteur: Mythologie de la PERSE (Clément HUART), mythologie des KAFIRS (J.HACKIN), mythologie du BOUDDHISME DANS L'INDE (Raymonde LINOSSIER), mythologie BRAHMANIQUE (H de WILMAN-GRABOSKA), mythologie du LAMAISME (J. HACKIN), mythologie INDOCHINOISE et JAVANAISE (Ch. Henri MARCHAL), mythologie du BOUDDHISME EN ASIE CENTRALE ( J . HACKIN), mythologie de la CHINE MODERNE (Henri MASPERO), mythologie du JAPON (M.ELISEEV).
