Original half blue cloth over printed paper covered boards, with gold lettering to spine. Colored frontispiece. Original 195 edition. A striking pictorial description of the tomb of Amenemhet I who was "the first ruler of the Twelfth Dynasty, the dynasty considered to be the golden-age of the Middle Kingdom of Egypt. The pharaoh ruled from 1991 BC to 1962 BC" (Wikipedia). This work is complete with its 49 plates of b/w photographic reproductions and drawings (including frontispiece), of which many are folded and in color. Covers age-toned, rubbed along edges, with some abrasion to front cover. Spine creased. Ex library copy with bookplate on inside of front cover, and printed notice on inside of back cover. Stamps at top and lower paper edges. Lower margin of pages slightly rippled, due to damp exposure. Binding in overall fair, interior in good to very good condition.

Continuing the Theban Tombs series, this third memoir depicts the tombs of two officials of Tuthmosis IV, namely Amenhotpe-si-se, second priest of Amun (No. 75), and Nebamun, captain of police (No. 90). This volume is lavishly illustrated throughout with 38 b/w and color plates. Binding water-stained and rubbed along edges. Pages rippled, with sporadic clear water-staining. Ex library copy with bookplate on inside of front cover, and printed notice on inside of back cover. Stamps at top and lower paper edges. Binding in overall poor to fair, interior in good- to good condition.
