Very small crack to the rear joint. Hinges are starting but firm. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front endpaper. Bookseller's label to the rear paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and clean with just a couple of light spots. Very Good. book.

An attractive personalised bookplate with the B.J.F monogram and a stylised tree with pine cones and a 'Napoleonic' bee beneath. The pine cones refer to his house 'Seven Pines' at Virginia Water. Extra illustrated with relevant illustrations, plates and engravings. Illustrations include Pauline Borghese as a young girl and the medal struck at Paris mint in her honour. Very slight wear to covers, otherwise very good+. Excellent condition.
