Paris, Paul Lechevalier, 1913. Large 4to (35.2 x 27.4 cm). Drophead title, one printed leaf, 101 engraved plates. Slightly later green half morocco over green linen boards. Gilt borders, gilt title on the spine. Yellow edges. = One of the sought after works on bamboo, written by the French botanist Edmond Gustave Camus (1852-1915) with fine illustrations. This is the atlas only, but the work is very rare in any state. Do not confuse this with the 1970's reprint. Pictorial bookplate "Murus aenus conscientia sana" of Sir Giles Loder, Bart [most probably Sir Giles Loder, 3rd Bt (1914-1999), who had a keen interest in horticulture] on the front paste-down. A few pencil marks near some plate captions, probably by Loder, otherwise a nice, clean, attractively bound copy. Stafleu and Cowan, 970.
