Monograph on a minor Hindu deity by cultural and art historian from National Museum in New Delhi. - The present monograph on Revanta by Dr. B. N. Sharma deals with the concept and iconography of this deity in detail. All the relevant literary and archaeological material bearing on Revanta has been taken into account. The author has, for the first time, given an exhaustive critical account of Revanta, touching on all possible aspects. The illustrations have carefully been selected from ancient art relics representing Revanta in the north and south India. For a student of Hindu iconography, this publication is indispensable. The conclusions arrived at by the author are based on adequate documentation. The relevant Sanskrit texts have also been collected.
