Taschenbuch. Neuware - Unconventional sulphated zirconia (SZ) catalysts were prepared by the sol-gel method. The calcination step seems to attain the highest influence, where the crystallinity transforms to the denser form. Calcination at 500°C gives the best activities and stabilities. For the study of the effect of the addition of Nobel metals, two groups of modified Sulfated Zirconia catalysts were prepared. The first group was modified by four different concentrations of Pt metal (0.15 wt%, 0.3wt%, 0.45wt and 0.6wt %). The second contained Pt Re combination, in different ratios where the sum of the two metals is 0.6wt%. The catalytic activity of the catalysts was examined via the isomerization reaction of n-pentane to iso-pentane. The catalytic activity was found to increase with increasing the Pt concentration in monometallic catalysts. The inclusion of Re ion together with Pt on SZ results in significant changes in the characters and activities of the catalysts. The 0.45wt%Pt/0.15wt%Re/SZ catalyst exhibited the highest activity and stability among the current catalysts. 192 pp. Englisch. Neu. Artikel-Nr.: 9783659640957.

Taschenbuch. Neuware - Women have traditionally played an important role in Small and Medium-Scale Enterprises, as owners, managers and workers. In Benin, shea almond processing and trading, mostly carried out by women, is one of the greatest opportunities in terms of wealth creation in rural and urban areas, particularly for women, and a source of currency for the country. The sale of shea butter provides women with money in order to assure the well-being of their family. During the last twenty years, technologies have been allocated to processors of shea almond, notably women, by successive governments, technical and financial partners in order to increase shea butter production and develop shea almond channel. Unfortunately, the channel remains at a low stage of development in term of production level, quality, diversification, trading, technical and management capacity. So, the present work aims to identify, analyse and discuss the issues for successful technology transfer from stakeholder group's perceptions in this sector. The originality of this dissertation is that issues are identified and ranked both according to technology transfer steps and stakeholder groups. 96 pp. Englisch. Neu. Artikel-Nr.: 9786202801669.

Taschenbuch. Neuware - The effects of dietary supplementation of Maize (Zea mays) with Soybean (Glycerine max) and Moringa (Moringa oleifera) leaf powder on some biochemical parameters in Albino rats were investigated using standard analytical procedures. Albino rats weighing between 130-150g were grouped into six groups. Two groups were fed with maize powder supplemented with soybeans in ratios 4:1(group 2) and 3:2 (group 3); two other groups were fed with maize supplemented with Moringa oleifera in ratios 4:1 (group 4) and 9:1(group 5) respectively. Two control group were fed normal rat chow (group 1) and maize flour (group 6) respectively. The feeding lasted four weeks. Weights of rats in each group were recorded before the commencement of the feeding and weekly thereafter. Biochemical parameters including, lipid indices, serum enzyme activity, albumin and glucose level were determined. Body weight and organ weights of albino rats were studied. The weight of feed consumed by the rat was taken daily, and at the end of the second week, half of the animals were sacrificed, and the remaining half sacrificed after the fourth week. 160 pp. Englisch. Neu. Artikel-Nr.: 9786139841363.
