Edmond Louis De Lestry [1860-1933] was Editor and Publisher of De Lestryi's Western Magazine [St. Paul, 1897-1901] a journal with a particular interest in the preservation of historical data. Almost every issue contained an account of some early Minnesota celebrity or a narrative of some historical event frequently written by the editor. De Lestry also published articles on such subjects as transportation, architecture, osteopathy and river navigation, but his interest was obviously more in the past than the present. Stoerk, born in Vienna, trained as a pathologist, worked in bacteriology and histology, was highly regarded, wrote on kidney tumors and the development and structure of the kidney and about diseases of the heart. He contributed a paper on liver regeneration.
