Ownership inscription "Septimus Wray Chirurgus Fleet Street, London" on front end-paper, light paper browning and minor off-setting from plates to text. *Beautifully engraved plates with satirical poems about Bath society. Anstey was an English poet who also wrote in Latin. The New Bath Guide brought him to fame and began an easy satirical fashion that was influential throughout the 2nd half of the 18th century (Wikipedia). 1 volume. Hardcover.
