Ashok Dwivedi

Ashok Kumar Dwivedi is a bioinformatics scientist and AI/ML engineer. He writes about how intelligent systems and living systems are actually built — from first principles, with every method derived rather than cited, every claim shipped with runnable code, and every limit stated inside the chapter that teaches the method.

He holds a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics and has worked for more than ten years across computational biology, machine learning and enterprise AI. He currently builds biological digital twins and precision-nutrition systems for a preventive-health platform based in France, where his work covers multi-omics ingestion, dynamic models of biochemical networks, and biomedical knowledge graphs with auditable multi-hop reasoning.

He was previously a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California, San Francisco, where he was shared first author of a PLOS Pathogens study linking tumour-suppressor and innate immune pathways to the size of the HIV reservoir; a postdoctoral research associate at North Carolina A&T State University, working on health risks of oil-spill chemicals; and an Assistant Professor at the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal, teaching machine learning, data structures and distributed databases. His earlier work applied neural networks to heart disease, diabetes and cancer classification, and to genome-scale discrimination of recombinant HIV-1 strains. His research has appeared in PLOS Pathogens, Neural Computing and Applications and Current Science, and has been cited more than 900 times.

His books carry the same method into long form: the AI-Dyuti series, beginning with Renoesis: The Long Way Home and continuing with The Engine Room, traces computing intelligence from a first line of code to autonomous agents and back to natural intelligence; Bioluminescence: From Sequences to Systems is a complete course in bioinformatics, omics and AI for biology.

He writes in English and Hindi, and publishes free bilingual course material and video lessons alongside his books.
