Born in Australia and shaped by experiences that took him to the United States in the 1970s, Jason Gregg has lived a life spanning military service, psychology, counselling, the creative arts and early artificial heart technology. Along the way, he lived on a retreat in Latigo Canyon, California, growing organic vegetables and introducing locals to the art of divining for water.
For several years, home was a yacht called Crazy Horse, in which he cruised from New York to the Florida Keys. His primary interests are in resilience, self-reliance and the limits we place on ourselves.
These experiences helped shape a lifelong fascination with human behavior, independence and the choices people make under pressure.
He is also the presenter of The Moot Tree, a non-partisan, apolitical blog that advocates change without violence or civil disobedience. Its focus is practical: becoming more capable, more resilient and more deliberate about the way we live. At its heart is a deceptively simple question: Who owns your life?
Writing from regional Queensland, Jason creates suspenseful and speculative fiction exploring power, ethics, survival, community and the forces that shape belief and behaviour. His work is designed to entertain, but also to leave readers thinking about resilience, responsibility and the kind of future we are creating.
