I. M. Lemm

Dr I. M. Lemm moves between the sciences and the humanities and has never quite understood why one should have to choose between the two.

Her first degree was in dentistry, followed by a doctorate in microbiology. After many years in professional life, she returned to university to study media studies (B.A.), followed by philosophy and history (M.A.). This unusual combination of disciplines continues to shape the way she approaches philosophical questions. Her particular interests lie in practical philosophy, language, ethics and the ways in which human beings relate to one another and to the world around them.

For her, philosophy is most compelling when it remains grounded in life and can inform the way we act.
