Dr. Nathan Nourian is an orthodontist and the founder of Textbook Orthodontics, a multi-location practice serving families across Los Angeles.
Dr. Nourian earned his undergraduate degree at UC Santa Barbara, completed dental school at the University of Southern California, and trained in orthodontics at the Georgia School of Orthodontics. His clinical focus goes beyond straight teeth. He practices airway-focused orthodontics, which looks at how jaw development, breathing, and bite work together. He has built a specialty niche in palate expansion, including MARPE (miniscrew-assisted rapid palatal expansion) for teens and adults.
His practice was built on one belief: good orthodontic care shouldn't be out of reach. Textbook Orthodontics accepts Medi-Cal/Denti-Cal, offers 0% financing and free consultations with 3D scans, and proudly serves Spanish-speaking communities throughout the San Fernando Valley, South Bay, and Los Angeles.
After thousands of consultations, Dr. Nourian noticed the same thing again and again. Patients and parents were making big treatment decisions without the basic information they needed. He wrote Breathe. Bite. Smile.: What You Should Know Before Starting Orthodontic Treatment to fix that. It's the plain-language guide he wishes every patient had read before walking into an orthodontist's office.
When he isn't treating patients, Dr. Nourian creates educational content to help people understand their options, ask better questions, and choose treatment with confidence.
