Dai Yun

DAI Yun is an author of children’s picture books. She grew up in Nanjing, China, studied and worked in Sydney, Australia, and currently lives in Singapore.

Yun explores diverse themes and styles in her writing, ranging from the lives of rhinos on the African savanna to the adventures of stinky socks. Some of her most acclaimed works include Sherjahaan, Sudan’s Horn, The Wandering Chicken, Where Can We Go and Have You Seen the Magpie.

Yun’s books have won some of the most important awards in China, including being listed among the Recommended Books by the National Library of China’s Wenjin Book Award. She is also the First Prize winner of the prestigious Feng Zikai Chinese Children’s Book Award in 2021. In France, her book won the 35th Prix des Incorruptibles (Grade3-4) in 2024, voted by 130,000 children.

Her works have been translated into multiple languages, including English, French, Danish, Korean, Portuguese, Arabic and Sinhala.
