Meredith P Lewis

Meredith Lewis has spent more than twenty-five years teaching science, technology, psychology and pastoral care across Australia, Fiji and Nauru, including school leadership roles and years working with students navigating difficult circumstances far from home.

Across every setting the same question followed her: what do you actually say to a child when they ask you something hard? Years mentoring students and new teachers, developing behaviour and guidance programs and working across vastly different cultural contexts taught her that the answer rarely depends on having a perfect script. It depends on turning toward the question instead of away from it.

The Smart Kids Ask Questions series grew directly from that experience — translated for parents navigating the same questions at home, from the first why to the ones a teenager never quite says out loud.

Meredith holds a Bachelor of Applied Science, a Graduate Diploma of Education and a Diploma of Business Communication, and continues to teach in New South Wales, Australia.
