Siobhan M. Griffin

Siobhan M. Griffin is an environmental writer, regenerative farmer, agricultural consultant, and grazing coach. Born in New York City, Siobhan spent her summers working on dairy farms while earning her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Cornell University. In 1997 her family purchased land in Westville, New York, and founded Raindance Farm, an organic dairy. When her marriage ended in 2000, Siobhan chose to keep farming while raising her two young children in the country, supported by the community around her. Raindance Farm produced raw cheese, grass-fed beef, pork, and poultry for local farmers markets, health food stores, a buying club, and Greenmarkets in New York City. When money got tight, Siobhan turned to holistic management to help with the viability of her farm business. As wildlife returned to her land, soil health improved, and her ecosystem began to show its capacity for renewal, she saw firsthand that the restoration of nature was not an abstract ideal. It was visible and measurable as nature's pristine ecosystem tried to self-organize around her.

Those experiences shaped the ideas behind Sun Cheese, a book that speaks to readers who feel overwhelmed by climate disruption, biodiversity loss, wildfires, floods, and the seeming scale of ecological crisis. Rather than offering easy promises, Siobhan writes from lived experience, scientific curiosity, and practical field knowledge, showing how healthier landscapes, stronger communities, and more resilient food systems are deeply connected.

Siobhan now helps farmers improve productivity naturally as a grazing coach with Next Level Grazing, Ltd. Her work in organic and regenerative agriculture, including results in pasture production, biodiversity, and soil carbon, has resonated with the global regenerative farming community. She has presented her farm results and ecological learnings at organic and regenerative farming conferences in the UK, Sweden, and New Zealand, appeared as a guest on radio and podcasts, and published articles on grazing management in Acres U.S.A. and Organic NZ.
