D. J. Drake

D. J. Drake is a pastor and military veteran who writes for ordinary Christians — the people in the pew, not the seminary library. His aim is always the same: take a doctrine that feels heavy or confusing and put it back on solid biblical ground, in plain language anyone can follow.

His first book, Put Down the Measuring Stick: A Biblical Guide to Assurance of Salvation, tackles the question that quietly haunts a lot of sincere believers — "Am I really saved?" — and answers it from God's promises rather than our performance.

He pastors a church in New York's Hudson Valley, where he preaches verse by verse through Scripture. When he isn't preaching or writing, he's spending time with his wife and their four children. He hopes to finish a novel soon, with more short theological works on the way.
