ABOUT THE AUTHOR Dr. Garima Upadhyay is a teaching faculty since August 2005 in the department of Home Science, Vasant Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Kamaccha, Varanasi (added to the privileges of Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India). She did her higher studies from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi beginning from B.Sc (Hons) Home Science, M.Sc (Home Science with specialization in Food & Nutrition) and Ph.D, Home Science (Food & Nutrition). Several research papers/articles/chapters in books have been published by her in UGClisted national and international journals. She is also author of e-content for e-PG Pathshala, UGC, MHRD, Govt. of India. She has been presenting papers and attending international/national seminars, conferences, symposia from time to time. She has successfully guided PG dissertations, doctorate work and member of editorial board of reputed journals. The induction of water stress hormones and the up-regulating genes synthesizing them is also the major thrust of the book.
