Robert Marshall Copeland is Professor Emeritus of Music at Geneva College and author of A Candle Against the Dark. For over half a century Copeland has pursued his interest in 19th century American religious history, combining it with scholarship in American musical history and culture. He was twice the recipient of his college's Scholar of the Year Award and was awarded the "Life G" for his lifetime of service. Building on the scholarship of the late D. Ray Wilcox, this book explains the fight of the Reformed Presbyterian Church against the American sins of slavery and racism. "Highly recommended" (historian Mark David Hall). "A fascinating and valuable study" (historian Steven E. Woodworth).
Bob loves books, music, Nebraska, the mountains, and his wife, three children, and nine grandchildren. He lives in western Pennsylvania.
