Hi, I’m Pip Payne - a Sunday Times bestselling cookbook author and the creator of The Slimming Foodie.
I started The Slimming Foodie in 2015 after my pregnancies, when I wanted to lose weight without giving up the food I loved. What began as a personal project has grown into a community of hundreds of thousands of people, with millions turning to my recipes for simple, satisfying meals that fit into real life.
I’m not a chef - I’m a home cook. Every recipe I create is cooked in my own kitchen, tested by my family, and designed to be achievable, budget-friendly, and full of flavour. My approach is all about balance: food that helps you feel good, without feeling restrictive or complicated.
I’m the author of multiple cookbooks, including Sunday Times bestsellers, with over 600 recipes covering everything from quick midweek meals and one-pot dishes to air fryer favourites. Whether you’re cooking for a family, trying to eat more healthily, or just need inspiration after a long day, my goal is to make good food feel easy and enjoyable.
I live on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon with my husband, two daughters, and our dog, Lupin - and when I’m not cooking or writing, you’ll usually find me out walking or with a cup of tea in hand.
