Benjamin W.L. Derhy

Benjamin W.L. Derhy [Kurtz] is a French sociologist, doctor in Television and Media Studies, and Director of Programs of the ORT France education network, after having been Director of Studies of a law school, as well as academic director Lyon Catholic University's school of communication and academic manager / A.T.E.R. at Avignon University. He is a researcher at the MARGE Laboratory at the University of Lyon 3, after having been a researcher at the Culture and Communication Laboratory and at the Norbert Elias Center at the University of Avignon, as well as at IRMECCEN at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University. Focusing so far on transmedia, the TV industry and Fake News, he also works on he history of communication and cultural mediation.

Benjamin Derhy is the author of “L’industrie Télévisuelle Revisitée: Typologie, relations sociales et notion(s) du succès” (2020) at L’Harmattan, Paris (prefaced by Bernard Miège) and the co-editor of “ The Rise of Transtexts: Challenges and Opportunities” (2016 / 2019) by Routledge, New York (published as “Benjamin W.L. Derhy Kurtz).
