Stephen Engelking

As a 'multipurpose' man, I have taken up writing and publishing in order to share some of my knowledge and experience with others who are interested in the same things as me.

My main activities are writing non-fiction books, translating books from German into English for special interest groups and publishing of works which would otherwise be lost to interested readers.

I was born in Cambridge, England in 1944 and spent the first 30 years of my life there. I was able to study pedagogics and religious studies at the University of London after spending some years working in the process control industry as a sales engineer.

In England, I got to know the famous thinker and author Hugh J. Schonfield for whom I became biographer.

I left England and went to live with my wife - and in the meantime eight children - in the Black Forest area of Germany, where I have lived ever since.

It was here that I came across the inventor of flexible working hours - the late Wilhelm Haller - also a writer and philosopher. He founded the company to promote flexible working hours, Interflex which is an international company in the meantime and leader in its field.

Later I founded my own electronics company which is still operating today.

In my latter years I returned to teaching at universities after gaining a number of degrees earned at the Open University. This includes a Bachelor of Science, an MBA and a Diploma in German.

This sparked my writing and publishing career. The books I publish fall into three main categories:

1. The Hugh & Helene Schonfield World Service Trust (Mondcivitaner Verlag)

These are mainly the republished and reset works of Hugh Schonfield, Wilhelm Haller and my biography of Hugh Schonfield. They are to do with messianic history, theology and philosophy.

2. ILBS

These are books about management, business and economics and include my books on strategic management and marketing.

3. Texianer Verlag

These are mainly historical works in German or translated into English and mostly to do with Texas and Texas-Germans. This is because I am descended from a long line of Prussian-Texan pioneers and is one of my special interests. I have already been able to make a number of interesting books on this subject area available to English language readers.

I hope you will enjoy my books and I look forward to your comments and support. If you think there are any other works that could do with my attention, please let me know.
