Vix J Cooper

Vix J Cooper has woven adventure and humour throughout Crazy Pets and Secrets Revealed, aimed at 9-13 year olds. She wanted the story to also be informative concerning some events readers may really face, and hoped to help them understand that people can react in different ways. Vix is currently writing a second story featuring Hugo, the same main character. In addition, she’s written a story for younger children, expected to be published later in 2019.

When not writing, Vix teaches in schools and at a museum near London, and her work has included Forest School. Tolerance and respect are really important qualities to her. Vix is passionate about native wildlife and protecting habitats. She enjoys inspiring children’s interest in these and has often incorporated stories to facilitate this.

Vix also finds experimental history fascinating, such as using old farm technology, and natural materials and traditional methods for making tools, rope and buildings. Her notion of a good time varies from being with family and friends – including woolly ones (small flock of sheep) – to persuading misbehaving goats to return to their pen, cinema and bird watching. She sees her brain as cooked spaghetti because ideas constantly slide around inside her head in no particular order!
