Denise Parker was born in Worthing, West Sussex in 1955. Educated at Worthing County Secondary School for Girls (as they called it then). Married in 1974 she had three children. The family has now extended to five grandchildren. In 2013, she retired to County Cork in Ireland and lives in a 200-year-old cottage, which is situated up in the Nagle Mountains, in the North of the County. She has five published picture books to her credit and has enjoyed writing them. After the first book, Denise turned her hand to illustrating them as well. She is now writing novels for the 8–11-year-olds - 'The Twins and the Giant Insects' being the first. After that she moved on to writing fantasy and the world of wizards and magic, with several titles under her belt.
