Gianfranco D'Anna

Gianfranco D'Anna, a Swiss-Italian physicist and researcher, has transitioned to writing historical novels set in the scientific realm. His debut novel, "Il falsario. Storia della più grande truffa scientifica che si conosca" (Albert Thebell, Physiker und Fälscher), was succeeded by other works, including "L'elettrone dimezzato" (Das geteilte Elektron), "Il neutrino anomalo" (60.7 nanoseconds), and "Il meccanico delle stelle". His books have been translated into several languages. "Il falsario" draws inspiration from his experiences at Bell Labs in New Jersey, the epicenter of a scientific forgery scandal that shook the research community: a young German researcher published nearly two dozen papers in Nature and Science, later exposed as blatant forgeries. D'Anna believes that presenting these lesser-known, less glorious aspects of scientific development in an accessible fictional format allows both specialists and the general public to better appreciate the methods and appeal of scientific work. www.gianfrancodanna..ch
