As an author, researcher, educator, support group leader, and freelance editor, Craig brings a strong blend of scientific evidence, real-life experience, and well-grounded pragmatism to the challenge of mental health recovery.
He serves a variety of mental health organizations. Three diverse groups engage him to distill and communicate the latest mental health research: the American Psychiatric Association's caucus on Complementary, Alternative and Integrative Medicine; Safe Harbor, the largest alternative mental health web community; and select affiliates of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) in the U.S.
Craig is also a trainer for NAMI; a contributing editor to an expansive practitioner reference on alternative mental health research; and a consultant to CrazyWise - a film that explores the experience of people who have turned their psychological crisis into a positive personal transformation.
Craig entered the field of Integrative Mental Health to help a loved-one in crisis. He chose to remain there when he discovered the tremendous unrealized potential of scientifically validated non-drug approaches. Previously, he was a marketing executive in the high-tech industry and president of an environmental nonprofit. He has a Bachelor's of Science degree and an MBA.
He lives with his family on a small farm in Michigan, U.S.
