"Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy." How true! It took a long time to come over here and I'm so excited to introduce you my first book here on Amazon.
It all began with a little daughter who used to disturb her father while working. Me. So he gave me a paper and asked me to paint a house. So I did. ...with red roof tiles... so I did... with a chimney... and smoke... so I did... and a fence... and a tree... and a bird on the tree... and leafs... it's an apple tree.... and so on and so on... with a lot of love and patient, until his work was done...
Later at school there was never enough space for the teacher to write comments in the margin of my notebooks; it was all full with drawings of figures and faces and it didn't stop even while I was preparing myself for the matriculation examination.
Understanding that it's difficult to make a living with art I studied applied graphics, but some how never came to work in that field. It came out I have another talent... managing... and it was exciting. For a while I was managing commercial projects, but slowly I felt I miss knowledge and spirit. So I continued working and studied History and became also a tour manager.
The big comeback to art came much later, with giving birth to my two lovely children. I needed relaxation and used to paint while they were sleeping. I was not anymore living in my home town Tel-Aviv since the love took me 1995 to Frankfurt. Raising two children, combating with the german language and having to earn money, was a big challenge. But I did it!
2006 I opened my studio ATELIER pishpesh in Neu-Isenburg, a small town near Frankfurt. From time to time there were taking place workshops and creative birthdays. But I used it mostly for my own creativity and to prepare my art classes for the hort that engaged me.
My children grew up into teenagers and I became professional so I took the risk to combine creativity and management.
2012 ATELIER pishpesh moved to Frankfurt in a much bigger place and enlarged its concept - art classes and creative birthdays for toddlers, children youth and adults are now a daily matter. Under https://www.pishpesh.de you can learn about the concept of pishpesh. It's in german. I'm sorry.... You may also follow ATELIER pishpesh on facebook. It's a public page. You don't have to be a member in order to visit it and you may watch what the different ages are creating there. https://www.facebook.com/Liza.pishpesh
If you whish to see my own artworks just visit my Gallery on Facebook. It's public as well. https://www.facebook.com/LizaGerassiLottgallery
As I already mentioned "FROM THE ARTIST'S STUDIO, COLORING IN THE MODERN STYLE" is my first book. The majority of the drawings were born free hand at least eight years ago in my studio in Neu-Isenburg. This book was the aim and now after a long way I may invite you to enjoy it.
This book has also a public page in facebook, in which I explain and show its potential. You may paint the drawings with cryons, felt pens and even acrylic. I my self have painted already ten drawings in it, most of them with acrylic, using different contrasts. So this is your link: https://www.facebook.com/Coloring-in-the-Modern-Style-1014279181959786
Please click on the introduction-images I left you here. I hope it will convince you to have fun with it, and if you wish to communicate with me join my blog, I'll be happy to meet you there: https://coloringbloglizalott.wordpress.com
So....
Hello to all coloring fans,
I believe, few of you have noticed that my book "From the artist's studio, coloring in the modern style" is a bit different from the other coloring books you know. In a way, it is.
Eight years ago, I visited a book store in a museum. I saw many coloring books that undressed Picasso, Monet, Kandinsky, Rizzi and others from the original colors, leaving only the outlines and this is what gave me the idea to draw art especially for coloring. The idea, that the artist and the public are sharing an artwork.
I am an artist and an art teacher who learns so much from its own students, from the young ones as well as from the adults. This book is actually a self portrait, as I have drawn the mirror of my soul.
The first thing I'm telling my students is: "don't try to paint like me. You will never get it! And I will never paint as each one of you. Each one of you is a masterpiece and you should try to bring yourself on the paper, because this is what art is all about, this is what makes the difference and this is what makes it interesting".
So if you decided to give my book a chance and color it, it doesn't mean you should color it as I do. Set yourself free. I am enthusiastic to learn from you!
I must say, I myself enjoy coloring my own drawings in my own book. I used already acrylic, Pitt pens, pencils, crayons and even pastels. It all works!
There are many ways to concept coloring; Placative or with color transitions, only with one media or mixed, using one or more of the color contrasts in the same artwork.
Few of my adults' students are very good with using color techniques. They come to paint with me, because they never have an idea, what to paint... This book enables you to use a coloring page in different ways and you can get really creative with it. You can color it as it is but you can also use it as a base to develop something different.
If you need support and ideas, I am always there and will be happy to give you hints.
Oh... I almost forgot one of the most important things....
I would like to invite you to post here your reviews and your own artwork made with my drawings... this is really exciting!
Yours,
Liza Gerassi Lott
