Bea Michelle Ramirez has been writing for an audience since her middle school years. She grew up in Detroit Michigan where her teachers offered inspiration and support for her first works of poetry then short stories. She is a passionate educator who has taught in both the Bronx and Texas ELA & ESL classrooms. She published her first children's book when her first puppy provided the inspiration to develop a story that supports the learning of STEM education.

Cocoa - the real main character in the book visits students all across Texas promoting the love of reading and STEM exploration along with her husband and co-author David Jerome Ramirez an astronomy enthusiast and engineer.
