Murigi Wainaina

Murigi Wainaina was born in Molo, Kenya in the Rift Valley region to parents who moved to the area from the Central Region of Kenya. This was at the height of the country's agitation for self-rule. He grew up in the farms where his parents worked as labourers. This life and the happenings in the early years of Kenya's independence has influence in his writings. Murigi works as an anaesthetist and lives in Nakuru County, Kenya, with his wife and children. His debut novel is 'The Virgin of Kivaled'.
