Ellis Silver

Ellis Silver is an ecologist and environmentalist, originally from Wisconsin, USA. He holds a doctorate in limnology (the study of lakes and other inland water ecosystems). For many years, he was the co-director of a private marine research facility in Texas, until it was destroyed by Hurricane Ike.

He now works as a research engineer on ocean clean-up vessels in Indonesia and the surrounding seas and oceans. He is passionate about cleaning up the world's oceans and removing plastics and chemical pollutants, and has made major contributions to the design and testing of potential solutions.

He loves wind turbines (modern sculptures!) but hates solar panels.

He is fascinated by the origins of life and humanity, and loves to speculate about what we might become, where we might go, and who we might meet in our amazing future.

He is the author of Humans are not from Earth, SuperMars, and Life After Earth.
