American novelist, poet, essayist, cartoonist, graphic artist, peace monger MICHAEL R. PATTON has lived and worked all over the United States. Basically self-taught, he describes his journey of discovery as “crawling blindfolded through the labyrinth”.
The results of this process can be found in his writings on dreams and myth, as well as his poetry, which employs mythological archetypes to describe personal and world transformation.
His first novel, THE RAVEN'S WAY, merged Native American mythology and the practice of shamanism to create a turbulent tale of the evolution of a psyche.
Though he believes in the power of working with dreams, and created a "No Teacher, Just Students" dreamwork group, he bristles at the suggestion that he's a "navel grazer"...
In his own words: "I don't see the inner and outer world as separate. By learning about myself, I learn about others, I learn about my world. And as I struggle to understand what I see OUT THERE, I learn about myself. However, I don't claim to have any special understanding: I'm still purblind, still only half-awake."
