Markus B. Baum, MBA

Markus Baum is CFO at EY (former Ernst & Young) in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. EY is a global leader (big4) in assurance, tax, transaction, advisory services and strategic growth markets. Markus is based in Frankfurt and in charge of the finance organisation.

Markus has a unique background (10+ years) of senior experience in business partnering, financial control, controlling, accounting, taxation, finance process excellence, shared services and utilising finance to significantly enhance business growth.

Markus joined EY from J&M which was acquired by EY in February 2013. J&M was a leading Management Consulting firm in Europe with with focus on business strategy, supply chain management and IT-strategy.

At J&M, Markus was Group Finance Director / Member of the Excecutive Board and responsible for the financial shared service center, development and execution of financial strategies, development of financial and corporate processes, financial analysis and board decision support (business partnering), financial planning and budgeting, internal and external audits, project management, corporate law and investor relationship.

He previously worked as an Accounting and Controlling Manager (consulting firm), Finance Analyst (global brand leader: Diageo PLC) and Consultant (tax, accounting, audit).

Markus Baum earned a MBA with distinction from the University of Surrey (UK), is an international certified accountant, has and graduation in accounting & controlling and an apprenticeship as tax adviser assistant.
