John DeWitt

Dr. John DeWitt is a former professional football player, author, and NIL educator who helps high school athletes, parents, coaches, and schools separate NIL facts from recruiting hype.

A Vanderbilt University graduate, DeWitt arrived as a walk-on before earning a full athletic scholarship after his first semester. He became a four-year starter at defensive end and earned Second-Team All-SEC recognition. His professional career included the NFL’s Houston Oilers, the Scottish Claymores of NFL Europe, the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL, the San Francisco Demons of the XFL, and multiple Arena Football League teams.

After football, DeWitt earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree and spent more than 15 years working with athletes and patients. Drawing on his experiences as a recruit, scholarship athlete, professional player, healthcare provider, and parent, he now provides practical, education-first NIL guidance. He is the author of High School NIL Reality Guide.
