Sharon Brubaker (1959-)
The Green Man and the mystery of the Green Man have been with Sharon for years. It began when Sharon was an adolescent--a freshman in high school and a prose project for a creative writing class. She vaguely remembers needing to write a prose piece about a color. She later dreamt and wrote about a green man who walked beside her and counseled her as well as an evil brown man. This dream became a repetitive dream that lived with Sharon for years and years. She knew she would someday write more about the green man and the nightmare of the brown man. Bits of story would come and and. In her twenties Sharon discovered there were Green Men. She saw sculptures and learned that Green Men were architectural features and on garden sculptures worldwide. Her curiousity became a passion and Sharon began to search for and research the Green Man. There is a lot of speculation from pagan deity to protector. He's an ancient, yet modern day archetype. He is still a mystery.
For Sharon, writing is like breathing. She says she has more stories in her head to write down than lifetimes to live.
