Jenny Kalahar

Jenny Kalahar was raised in the small town of Grass Lake, Michigan with her four older brothers and a slew of cats and one enormous dog. After marrying Patrick, a rare book dealer, she and Pat moved to Athens, Ohio to run a used bookshop near the campus of Ohio University. For many years they fostered cats from the local shelter in their shop, finding homes for more than fifty cats. Now living in Elwood, Indiana, they sell their books through the internet and write at odd moments when they should be doing other things. Like tending to their cats and Jack Russell terrier, Weegee, or selling and repairing books.

Jenny helms a poetry-writing group in Elwood and participates in another group in Zionsville, Indiana. She's had poetry published and a radio play performed and aired, and now has two other novels in the works. The next is a sequel to Shelve Under C, this time starring a girl who hates to read and write. Jenny is also writing the first book of another series, a fantasy set in a mysterious Indiana school for kids who have one very peculiar, magical talent.
