Jeanhee Kang was born in Iksan, South Korea. She first came to the United States in 1975 and made it her goal to attend an American high school. At age thirty, a single mom on welfare, broke and almost homeless, she reinvented herself in order to realize her childhood dream. Within five years, she went from being a street peddler in Jackson, Mississippi, to a self-made millionaire. Until now, Jeanhee has told no one of her past, the secret of what she had to endure in order to have a second chance in America. Ms. Kang dedicates her inspirational story of survival to the 50 million American women, and billions of women all over the world who face similar hardships every day. RUN AWAY is her first book.
