K.A. Plouffe

K. A. Plouffe is a retired Air Force veteran who served in security and behavioral health specialties, with assignments at nuclear missile sites, the Air Force Survival School, and Cuban refugee camps in Panama. He holds a black belt and various ranks in other martial arts systems. In the mental health field, his professional experience spans partial hospitalization and substance abuse treatment programs, community and police-based mobile crisis response, county jails, and school- and office-based therapy. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Psychology, as well as an M.S. in Counseling.

As a writer with ZERO | END LLC productions, Plouffe has contributed to numerous full-length film scripts and penned the musical stage play Dark Start, Start Light ( A Rock Musical of Human Loss and Hope). He is the co-author, with Kris McKenna, of the sci-fi action thriller S.E.A.: Soldier Enhanced Adaptation and the Western noir The Getaway Conspiracy. He has also authored magazine articles and two peer-reviewed journal articles on trauma. His first novel, the dark fantasy Annie's Odyssey: The Dragon's Gift, won the Visionary Fiction Division of the Beverly Hills Book Awards. Plouffe continues to serve his community through mental health work and lives with his wife in Maine.
