Dedication leaf printed in red. Full contemporary calf with five raised bands, gilt titles and decoration to compartments, gilt to board edges and all edges sprinkled red. Binding a little scuffed and rubbed with wear at corners; lower corners bumped. Scattered foxing mainly to plates, prelims and endpapers; armorial bookplate of William Arthur, Sixth Duke of Portland, to front pastedown. Upper inner hinge split but holding well but ffep attached at either end. Upper and lower joints rubbed, otherwise a solid copy in a contemporary binding.
