Jacky Gray's first career was engineering and after 23 years writing software for telephone exchanges, she spent 10 years teaching children, occasionally introducing them to the joy of mathematics. She still teaches part time when she is not roaming the country researching, signing books or visiting schools, hospitals and libraries entertaining with her collection of medieval weaponry and pagan artefacts.
Archer and Rory are the first two books in the series Hengist: The People of the Horse featuring the adventures of a courageous warrior Archer. The third book featuring a new hero is now available on Amazon. Reagan is a magi who decodes the mysteries of Ley lines and Crop Circles to find the site for the next White Horse in Wessex. Jacky is currently editing the fourth book Slater which includes fascinating accounts of how the stone temples at Avebury and Stonehenge were created and used. If you want to find out more about the series, you can read background information, extracts and more about the characters on www.hengistarcher.co.uk.
Jacky lives in the Midlands with her husband and three children, where she enjoys all live entertainment, watches a lot of movies and some great TV shows like Merlin, Robin Hood, Dr Who, Ashes to Ashes and Being Human. She also listens to a lot of Journey and Queen and reads (apologies to the adverb police) voraciously, especially Lee Child, Suzanne Collins, Jodi Picoult, Stephen King, Stephenie Meyer, J.K. Rowling, Preston/Child, George RR Martin and Wilbur Smith. But her favourite author will always be the master of history, Bernard Cornwall.
