Fotografie
Vintage color reference photograph from the 1995 film, showing Elizabeth Berkley as Nomi, onstage in her early days at Cheetah's Gentleman's Club, mid-striptease. Annotations in manuscript ink on the verso. One of the most hotly contested films of the 1990s. Largely panned at the time of its release, it has since gained enormous cult status, and has even been reevaluated by critics and filmmakers such as Jonathan Rosenbaum, Jim Hoberman, Jim Jarmusch, and Jacques Rivette, who defend the film as a serious satire, something actor Kyle MacLachlan dismisses, describing the film as ".horrible. Horrible!" and noting that "it just gets worse" as it progresses. John Waters may have described it best: "'Showgirls' is funny, stupid, dirty, and filled with cinematic cliches; in other words, perfect." Set and shot on location in Las Vegas, Nevada. 10 x 8 inches. About Fine.
