Peter Barratt

Peter Barratt is the creator and author of the series of picture books 'The Adventures of Cyril The Squirrel' and 'The Adventures of Dillon Dinosaur,' each aimed at children in the 4-8 age range and published by BaBa Productions, a company of which he is a co-founder and partner.

The former primary school teacher, a graduate of the University of Wales and of the University of Manchester, created both of his popular series as a by-product of teaching. Peter is also a songwriter and put music to many of his stories for use by the children in his charge.

After having signed an agreement with the former Stakis Hotels PLC where the two parties recognised each others Trade Mark rights to 'Cyril the Squirrel' they worked together for a short time developing the project. It was a razor sharp learning curve early in Peter's writing career but one that served him well in later years.

Peter Barratt is a member of the Society of Authors, a professional member of the National Association of Writer's in Schools and a member of the British Academy of Songwriters Composers and Authors. He lives in North Yorkshire.
