Dovell at the head of the title page and front wrapper, his pencil deletions, additions, and corrections throughout. 4to. (6), 197, (1) pp. A comprehensive textbook aimed at a junior high school audience,…covering all aspects of the state's history. Tipped to the verso of the front wrapper is a five-page prospectus for the book. Dovell (1911-1986) received his PhD from the University of North Carolina, writing a history of the Everglades for his dissertation; a prominent Florida historian over the next four decades, he published many books and pamphlets and contributed articles to scholarly journals. Very good. Original comb-bound printed stiff wrappers. (9190).
