I didn't write any of the German language books that are listed on Amazon.

My most recent book was "Military Wives and Widows Tell Their Stories," published in 2018. A collection of some 20 stories about life as the spouse of a serviceman. The year before I wrote a tribute to my friend and fellow writer Ariana Mangum who left this world on March 2, 2017. "Ariana's Books and Columns".

I have been a free-lance writer, editor, and lecturer for more than 40 years. In addition to writing books I contribute a monthly article to the on-line magazine RPF Digest, celebrating the lives and works of famous authors. The Digest is available on the Alstonbooks.xyz web-site.

In the summer of 2016 I published "Parallel Lives" the memoirs of my cousins as well as mine of living in London during the Blitz of World War 2. "The Key" (2014), is a mystery-romance that I wrote, set in Chapel Hill, NC. Other books are "The Dating Adventures of a Widow" my experiences of the first ten years after my husband died, and "Still Hopping, Still Hoping", a biography of Carla Shuford, (2012). My book "The A-Z of Writing & Selling", a reference book for writers was published in 1981 and chosen as a featured alternate by The Writers Digest Book Club.

In addition to books I have published hundreds of feature, travel, business and trade articles, and newspaper columns, for diverse publications in the U.S., and U.K and edited the works of other writers. Most recent being "The Criminal Justice System and A View From the Bottom," by Joseph A. Marro, available on Amazon and Kindle.

I was born in London, England but made Chapel Hill, North Carolina my home for almost 40 years until moving to Mebane, NC 5 years ago.

In 2014 the Chapel Hill Magazine awarded me a Silver category in the Author section of the Best of Chapel Hill. In 2011 I was recognized as a "Town Treasure" by the town of Chapel Hill and previously had been named a "Hometown Hero" for my community and volunteer service.

I continue to volunteer as a writing coach for first-graders at Efland-Cheeks Elementary School.
