The poet's signed inscription to the front free end paper.Despite holding the position of Governor for barely two weeks as an interim after the resignation of his predecessor, Snow was a prominent figure in Connecticut, particular for education, where he served on Boards of Education for over thirty years. His poetry became popular after meeting fellow poet Robert Frost, with whom he became close friends. This particular anthology, writing of his native state of Maine, and its people and places, is an example of his autobiographical poetry. In the publisher's original quarter cloth, with green paper boards, in the original clipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart, with minimal marks to boards.
