A tense, vengeful Western which owes as much to archetypes of Greek tragedy and Shakespearean drama as it does to the conventions of the genre, following a rancher's strong-willed daughter who seeks revenge on her father for the wrongful hanging of her best friend. The troubled and complicated lives of passengers and crew of a commercial airliner and a US Navy jet are examined as severe weather and a malfunctioning radio bring the two planes on an inextricable course toward collision. Collection of 4 vintage studio still photographs from the 1948 film noir. An interesting historical artifact in that each of these has a label with a corrected title reading "They Live By Night" pasted over the original release title, "The Twisted Road." One of the four photos has this label roughly removed in a demonstrative fashion (see images). Based on Edward Anderson's 1937 novel "Thieves Like Us," about an escaped convict who falls in love with a woman who nurses him back to health after he is injured in a robbery.
