In den WarenkorbPaperback. Zustand: Very Good. Wordsley, situated on the western fringe of the West Midlands conurbation and now part of Dudley, has a long and fascinating history. In the first century AD the Romans positioned their front line nearby before advancing towards Wales. Fifteen hundred years later there was an unofficial royal visit by Charles II after the Battle of Worcester. During the Industrial Revolution glass-making cones proliferated the area and the Stourbridge Canal aided general manufacturing and distribution of goods in the nineteenth century. As the community developed a new church was built to replace the ancient mother church, and the new Wordsley School of Art led the way in voluntary vocational education provision, while electric trams enabled locals to widen their horizons. All these aspects are featured here, along with more recent developments, schools, clubs and societies. Over twenty interesting local residents are profiled. and there is a look at what is just to the west of the municipal boundary, once in the parish of Kingswinford. Stan Hill's well-illustrated new book will appeal to anyone who knows Wordsley, whether long-term residents or recent arrival. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.

Buch. Zustand: Neu. Neuware - Like sunlight through a prism, William Christopher Hoapili Remington, or Chris as his family, friends and loved-ones know him, defuses the white heat of his passion into an all-consuming palate containing infinite colors of the love that dare not speak its name. From the blues of blackmail and deceit to the blistering flash of white-hot, soul-deep ardor, the spectrum of his love bathes all who come to know him in a kaleidoscope of hue, epic in scope, intimate in detail. Born in paradise as a prince, raised in a ruthless business world as an heir apparent, he transcends his calamitous late-nineteenth century life, and offers all with whom he comes in contact a mirror in which they see reflected the love within themselves. In the tradition of Gothic Romances of epic proportion, this novel of intimacy, machination and valiant passion, spans continents and oceans telling the simple tale of the power of love within everyone from the simplest soul to the most powerful mogul.
