A beautiful book about Norwegian sculptor Blystad (1946-) who seems to both capture and unleash the forces of nature in his granite and diabase works. When trained at the National Academy of Art in Oslo during the 1970s, he abolished his previous experimental work. In more recent work, Blystad has returned to abstract themes, focusing for a time on creating hanging torsos. His ideal point of departure is always to trace back to the sculptural theme of the stone.
