In den WarenkorbFirst edition, first printing, presentation copy to former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher, with a presentation letter mounted to the front free endpaper from Atherton & Murphy Investment Company, 10 November 1994: "Thank you so much for agreeing to come to Hillsdale College. We are honored to provide the transportation for you and your party. Please accept this book on the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as a token of our appreciation. William S. Atherton". Hillsdale college, where Thatcher delivered an address entitled "The Moral Foundations of Society", is a private conservative college in Michigan. In May 2008 the college erected a statue of Thatcher in their grounds. The Gilcrease Museum is one of the most important collections of American art and artefacts. The book remained in the possession of Thatcher until her death, afterwards dispersed in her estate sale at Christie's, 2015. Her posthumous bookplate is mounted to the front pastedown. Oblong quarto. With colour illustrations throughout. Original white cloth, spine and front cover lettered in bronze. With dust jacket. A fine copy, in good jacket with tear to rear panel.
